About Us

Vine Transit is the premier public transportation service operated by the Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA). NVTA provides sustainable, accessible, community-focused transportation options that are innovative, environmentally responsible, and promote the vitality of our region. Through NVTA’s transit district arm, Vine Transit provides bus, community shuttle, and paratransit services for Napa County. Vine Transit continually builds partnerships to deliver transportation solutions that meet the evolving mobility needs of Napa County.

In July 2000, NVTA debuted the VINE, which was formed by combining the V.I.N.E. (Valley Intercity Neighborhood Express) and the Napa Valley Transit (NVT). Then in 2002, NVTA began operating community shuttles, including the Calistoga Shuttle (formerly the Calistoga HandyVan), the St. Helena Shuttle and the Yountville Trolley (formerly Yountville Shuttle). As a combined system, the VINE Transit provides service to residents throughout Napa County.

Designing transit service in Napa County provides challenges that are unique compared to the vast majority of the Bay Area’s transit networks. The mixture of rural and urban areas along with the dynamic geography, topographical landscape, and the diverse needs of our community are just some of these challenges that VINE Transit faces when planning transit service.

Vine Transit is always looking for new ideas on how to improve our system to meet the needs of the community. We encourage the members of our community to submit suggestions through our Contact page **(LINK)**, or write to Vine Transit, 625 Burnell St. Napa CA 94559. Attention: Transit Planning.
